Supporting Mary’s Place

We’re not all just whiskey and mischief around here.  Community has been a focus for us since we began in 2009.  And although you may not know it, every time you purchase our award-winning spirits, you’re also helping to support a worthy non-profit. We work with several organizations in the Seattle area to help grow and sustain this wonderful part of the world we call home.

Today we want to highlight one of those organizations: Mary’s Place. Mary’s Place is a nonprofit organization that empowers homeless women, children, and families to reclaim their lives. Mary’s Place is where self-confidence is restored, hope is discovered, and a new future begins.

Mary’s Place currently operates six emergency night shelters for families and two day centers. There, the basic needs of some of our community’s most vulnerable residents – families experiencing homelessness, can be met.  Mary’s Place meets people where they are – empowers and equips them with the tools to find stable housing and provides for their basic needs. Mary’s Place provides resources and referrals to social services, medical care, legal and financial aid, shelter, housing, and employment.  Health and wellness are promoted through direct access to nursing and naturopathic care, and daily groups are held to offer support, encouragement, and practice on boundaries and communication skills.  Each homeless family is immediately assigned a Housing & Wellness Advocate to help them develop and implement a plan for moving to stable housing.
