New York Sour

Dating back to the 1870s, a Chicago bartender is given credit for the creation of the New York Sour, originally called the Continental Sour, was renamed the New York Sour after NY bartenders started serving the cocktail and popularizing it.

Ingredients

2 oz. Fremont Mischief Whiskey
3/4 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. red wine
Garnish: lemon twist
Tools: shaker, strainer, barspoon

Procedures

Shake all ingredients except wine with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.

Pour wine over the back of a spoon to float on top of the drink.

Garnish with a lemon twist.
