Follow along with Mischief on Canal’s bar manger and make a refreshing and easy to make Mint Julep at home with Canal Street Bourbon.
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
7-10 fresh mint leaves
2 oz Canal Street Bourbon
top with Club Soda
Place simple syrup in shaker. Add 7-10 fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle. Add Bourbon and ice to shaker. Chill and mix cocktail using a throw technique by putting strainer over the first shaker and poring into another shaker and transferring back and forth a few times, straining each time, leaving air between the shakers to impart a little more texture to the cocktail. Strain into a glass with fresh ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig after expressing the leaf by either slapping it against the glass or slapping it between your palms, to release the mint oil to add a mint aroma. Enjoy!
